Sarah Palin, Jim DeMint, Ken Buck cost Republicans control of U.S. Senate

Sarah Palin and Sen. Jim DeMint foisted Ken Buck and other losers on the Republican Party, and that cost the GOP a chance to win control of the U.S. Senate in Tuesday's elections, according to Mort Kondracke, a long-time political reporter and pundit and a Fox News contributor. He calls Palin a joke in the first video. Is Palin's victory lap video, Together, a joke? It celebrates the winners she endorsed, not the losers.

Craig Silverman endorses Ken Buck, Tom Tancredo, Mike Fallon

Craig Silverman, a former Democrat district attorney in Denver and an independent who voted for President Obama, has endorsed Republicans Ken Buck for the Senate and Mike Fallon for Congress in the first Congressional district. He also endorsed the American Constitution Party's Tom Tancredo for governor.

Sarah Palin endorses Tom Tancredo in robo call

Sarah Palin is endorsing Tom Tancredo for governor today in a robo call paid for by Tancredo for Governor. Hint: Palin's convinced Tancredo has a good chance to win, or she wouldn't waste her endorsement on him. When I got the call, I didn't hear Palin introduce herself. CNBC was on too loud.

Obama Democrats run Denver Post; back spend & tax nanny staters, John Hickenlooper, Michael Bennet

The Denver Post is proud to be Colorado's liberal paper, and it's not the only paper controlled by the Left in the state. Under the pretense of backing the best men (which is debatable), John Hickenlooper for governor and Michael Bennet for the U.S. Senate, the Post is showing that Obama Democrats are in charge of the Post's editorial page. This is even though there are three conservatives on its editorial board.

Denver Post’s endorsement of Michael Bennet turned against him by NRSC; Ken Buck’s feet in his mouth

In its endorsement of Obama Democrat Michael Bennet for re-election to the U.S. Senate where he represents his home town of Washington, DC, the Denver Post had some scathing comments about its candidate. The National Republican Senatorial Committee is using those comments in a new commercial (top). Comedians are hitting Ken Buck for his comments about homosexuality. The Left also is running a clip showing Buck has no respect for our long history of separating church and state. These clips could decide the election, which is a toss up:

Sen. David Schultheis endorses Tom Tancredo, pulls endorsement of Dan Maes

Another big endorsement for Tom Tancredo for governor of Colorado comes from state Sen. David Schultheis of Colorado Springs. Schultheis wrongly believes that if the GOP would have supported Maes he would be winning. If this were a race between Maes and Hickenlooper alone, Hick would be winning with over 60% of the votes. Voters don't like ethically challenge candidates like Maes who are unfit to be governor.  LINK: Senator Schultheis pulls endorsment for Dan Maes.

Does Dan Maes have to quit for Tom Tancredo to win?

The Tom Tancredo team obviously thinks he'll have a better chance of winning if Republican Dan Maes quits the gubernatorial race and lets Tancredo take on John Hickenlooper alone. There's no question that having Maes quit would help Tancredo, but voters and Republicans already are counting Maes out of the race regardless of what he does. And he continues to say he won't quit and to show he cares more about himself than about Colorado. You'll know conservatives really think Tancredo has a chance to win when you see a few independent groups pour some money into TV ads against Hickenlooper. So far, nobody has done that. Or if they have, they're not going all in. Here's a good report on what's going on behind the scenes: Tancredo ups pressure on Maes to quit Colorado governor's race, by Jessica Fender. Tancredo hits Maes on the airways, by Karen Crummy. Script follows:

Tambor Williams attacked by Marilyn Musgrave, Barry Arrington for pretending to be conservative

Marilyn Musgrave and Barry Arrington have published an op-ed piece in the Denver Post in which they attack Dan Maes' running mate, former state representative, Tambor Williams, for pretending to be a conservative Republican even though in 1997 she voted against a ban on partial birth abortion and in 2005 she publicly supported tax increases in Referendom C. "C" was backed by Williams' then boss, former GOP Governor Bill Owens. Williams now claims that she actually voted against "C". Musgrave's extremism on gay marriage and abortion are the primary reasons she lost to Betsy Markey in CD-4 in 2008. Arrington's extremism on social issues helped Tom Tancredo, of all people, beat him the GOP primary for CD-6 back in 1998. Obviously, I agree with Williams' small government positions on social issues and vigorously opposed Ref. C. I also agree that Williams' voting record doesn't seem to confirm her claims that she's a social and fiscal conservative. She also voted against small business owners on health insurance issues.  Why Williams, who seems to be a smart and honest politician, agreed to be on Maes' ticket and hasn't quit because of questions about Maes' competence and ability to tell the truth are among this year's little mysteries. LINK: Tambor Williams must think voters are pretty stupid, by Marilyn Musgrave and Barry Arrington.

I've mentioned "Maes" in about 297 posts since Sept. 30, 2009. (Search has been fixed.)

Kevin Lundberg nominated Dan Maes at GOP state assembly; he and 4 others endorse Tom Tancredo

Kevin Lundberg, one of the last diehard supporters of Dan Maes, the Republican candidate for governor of Colorado, has joined four other state legislators in endorsing Tom Tancredo for governor. With 69% of Republicans supporting Tancredo instead of Maes because they know Maes is unfit to be governor or to represent the GOP, Maes will be lucky to get 7% to 9% of the votes Nov. 2. Maes is already down to 10% and sinking while Tancredo is at 40% and surging. Release is below the jump.

NRA endorses Tom Tancredo

Conservative gubernatorial candidate Tom Tancredo frequently tells a story about how he shot a coyote in Arizona. The National Rifle Assn. likes Tancredo as much as he likes guns, and it has endorsed him for governor of Colorado. Press release is after the jump:

Denver Post is going after Ken Buck

Having endorsed appointed Obama Democrat Senator Michael Bennet over Republican Ken Buck, the Denver Post is going after Buck, and he's helping them make their point. This makes sense and is predictable. I am doing the same thing on this blog—cheering on Tom Tancredo, Buck and Ryan Frazier while highlighting their opponents' missteps whenever I can. That's politics and attacking candidates is one of America's great political traditions because it informs voters. Yes, the attacks often are unfair and even untrue, but because both sides do it, voters have plenty of time and ways to process all of the opinions and facts that they see and hear during a campaign. Sometimes voters blow it as they did when gullibles elected Obama, but most of the time, they make pretty good decisions. LINKS: Off the cuff, Buck missed the mark; The candidate reaffirmed his knack for sticking his boot in his mouth with his comments about gays choosing their sexuality. Denver Post editorial. Buck's reprimand was no youthful indiscretion, Bob Barr's Denver Post op-ed.

Cory Gardner endorsed by 4 papers, Betsy Markey by Fort Collins Coloradoan

Republican Cory Gardner has been endorsed for Congress in CD-4 not only by the Denver Post, but also by four other papers: Loveland Reporter-Herald, Longmont Times-Call, Greeley Tribune and Pueblo Chieftain. Betsy Markey has been endorsed by the Fort Collins Coloradoan.  LINK: Endorsement roundup: Salazar/Tipton (CO-3) and Markey/Gardner (CO-4), by Michael Sandoval.

Daily Sentinel endorses Scott Tipton; calls John Salazar ‘ineffective’

The Grand Junction Daily Sentenel endorses Republican Scott Tipton for the 3rd congressional district. And it spells out in detail why the publisher thinks incumbent Nancy Pelosi Democrat John Salazar is ineffective. LINK:  Tipton for Congress, the Daily Sentinel. Colorado legislative races that could give majorities to Republicans

Ben DeGrow has been tracking Colorado's legislative races more than anyone else outside of the political class. He lists races that will be important in the Republicans' efforts to take over the state's house and senate.
