AET, CI: Aetna and Cigna pay fastest according to athenahealth (ATHN)

A small company, athenahealth, Inc. (ATHN) is making itself better known and a couple of big health insurers, Aetna (AET) and Cigna (CI) look good with the widely reported release of a report that says AET and CI are the quickest to pay physicians. And they deny the fewest claims, which makes physicians happy. ATHN’s news release is here. Yes, athenahealth’s name is all lower case.

Stock pickers will like the news, too, because insurers that treat their suppliers—physicians and hospitals—well are by definition well managed.
