Colorado Springs Gazette endorses Ken Buck, John Hickenlooper
The Colorado Springs Gazette believes in and even promotes illegal immigration. So it's no surprise that the illegal immigration issue made it easy for the Gazette to endorse Sanctuary City Democrat John Hickenlooper for governor.
Note that the paper snuck in its concerns about Tom Tancredo's strong stand against illegal immigration into the last graph of is ringing endorsement of Hickenlooper, which makes little sense.
That most of the state's papers and many voters are so blind that they see Tancredo as a single issue candidate makes one wonder why he's reinforcing that belief in his ads this week.
Has he given up?
At the same time, the paper went with its strongly Republican readership by endorsing Ken Buck for the U.S. Senate over appointed Obama Democrat Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Washington, DC). That the paper is an illegal immigration enabler is clear in its Buck editorial.
Bennet not only represents his home town of Washington, DC, he's also so Denver centric that he refused to meet with the Gazette's editorial board—just as he's refused to appear with Buck and Mike Rosen on 850 KOA. Bennet is pretending to be a centrist, and he knows that his voting record is indefensible.
