Dan Maes raised $50,201.16 in August, spent $54,011.76; $19,786.08 on hand; says more coming

Dan Maes raised $50,201.16 between July 29 and Sept. 1. In the July 15 to July 28 period, he collected $18,005.98 in contributions. Since he began his campaign, Maes has collected $240,730.50 and spent $227,116.05, according to his report to the Colorado Secretary of State. During August, Maes spent $54,011.75 and he wound up the month with $19,788.08 on hand for his gubernatorial campaign. He’s hoping for a “major endorsement” and contribution that he expects will attract more contributions, he told this morning’s Arapahoe Republican Mens [and women’s] Club breakfast. He told the meeting that his August contributions were double what he received in July. If Maes collects half of what he received in August in September, he’ll be lucky. It is way too late for him to raise money and buy the TV and radio time that he needs to be competitive with John Hickenlooper and Tom Tancredo. LINK: Maes report to Colorado Secretary of State.
