Gov. Bill Ritter refuses to say how much ObamaCare (HR 3962, S 1796) would cost Colorado
Governor Bill Ritter’s Dept. of Health Care Policy and Financing is refusing Rep. Mike Coffman’s request that it estimate the cost to Colorado of President Obama’s health spending and taxing bills, S 1796 and HR 3962. In an obvious attempt to not undercut the progress of those bills through Congress, Ritter’s administration says it won’t analyze the cost until a final bill is written. In effect, the Obamaians in the Ritter administration are denying information to the state’s Congressional delegation and to the public because it would be politically inconvenient to show how Medicaid provisions in the bills will increase the state’s budget deficit and deny services to non-Medicaid stakeholders in the state.
