Independents breaking for Ken Buck; he leads Michael Bennet 48% to 43% in tight race
Ken Buck is leading appointed Obama Democrat Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Washington, DC), 48% to 43%. While Republicans and Democrats are supporting their candidates strongly, independents are breaking for Buck by a 5 to 3 margin, a new Denver Post/ 9News poll shows. While the race still is a toss up because Bennet and Buck will blast each other in commercials during the next four weeks, Buck's lead is important because, historically, in Senate contests, leaders at this late stage of a campaign usually prevail. Bennet will attack Buck for his stands against abortion. Buck will attack Bennet's record as a rubber stamp for President Obama's health, failed stimulus spending, radical climate change and job killing energy and labor bills and policies.
