Because three activists organizations are paying the salary of Alice Madden, the state’s climate change coordinator, Jessica Corry writes that the deal shows that Governor Bill Ritter “should write a guidebook on how to buy a top post in his administration.” That Ritter doesn’t see a problem with the arrangement only shows how a lawyer like Ritter can convince himself that what seems like an unethical arrangement to outsiders is just politics for him.
