Ken Buck 47%, Michael Bennet 45%, other 4%, not sure 4%
Appointed Obama Democrat Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Washington, DC) appears to be benefiting from the nasty, untrue attack stories that Bennet's backers are running against Republican Ken Buck. In the latest poll, Buck leads Bennet by only two points, 47% to 45% of likely voters with 4% backing "others" and 4% not sure, according to Rasmussen Reports. In the attack stories, Buck is being protrayed as insensitive to an alleged date-rape victim. A rape victim whose attacker was sent to prison for 24 years is helping Buck beat back those negative stories, but the damage apparently has been done. Both parties are pouring millions into the Colorado race for the U.S. Senate, which Rasmussen has moved to a toss up from a leans Republican contest. Buck and Bennet will appear on Meet the Press Sunday.
