Kent Lambert’s state Senate career off to shaky start with tweet on homosexuals in Denver
Colorado state Senator-elect, Kent Lambert, did a great job on the General Assembly's Joint Budget Committee when he was in the House. That's why his Republican colleagues in the Senate elected the freshman senator to the JBC for the next session. Lambert's a smart, real fiscal conservative. But his career is off to a shaky start because he reportedly tweeted nonsense about Governor -elect John Hickenlooper's sympathies for homosexuals. His tweet offends many conservatives like me, Christians and Republicans as well as the Democrats who run liberal blogs around the state. With so many fiscal problems to contend with, why is Lambert creating this distraction? Why is he alienating the people who started the Colorado Democracy Alliance (CoDA) in 2004 after a few Republicans in the state legislature offended them with homophobic rants. Being homophobic is not just offensive and wrong, it's politically dumb. Ask Ken Buck. LINKS: Lambert tweeted his insult on Oct. 23. The Dems are dredging it up to put him and Senate Republicans on notice that CoDA will be after him and them in 2012. Lambert's "homosexuals in Denver" comment sparks reply from gay lawmakers, by Tim Hoover.
Mr. RFID Asset Tracking. Is English your native language? I assume not. So regardless of language, do you know about the desire for logical reasoning to be on display when you post comments on blogs. IOW, people really don’t care wht you are for or against; rather, we are more interested in the reasoning for same.
Don, intersting post. Lambert sounds like a well meaning guy given the quotes from the gay legislator Dems in Tim’s article. But conservatives have got to put their social issues obsessive compulsive disorder to rest. I witnessed what that disease did to the GOP in California first hand, step by losing step. Nancy P. and Barbie B., and Henry Waxman and a host of others were all getting started back when I was a young lawyer in the ‘80s. Now look what happened.
Wow! Conservative intransigience on social issues really got them far, huh? First off, they need to start using the term, “gay,” as much as they don’t like it. My gosh, I’ve been forced to put up with loan as a verb used incorrectly for lend. They can do the same. The term “gay” has been around long enough and is the preferred term by the group at issue. And I’m not being PC. I don’t think you need to use African-American, for example. Real black people don’t use it unless they re lib-Dem politicians - they use black.
These idiotic social conservatives are so clueless.
A question. I didn’t get why Christians were offended by Lambert’s comment. Would you please elaborate.
