Michael Bennet big loser on health care bill (HR 3590); he got nothing for Colorado

Chis Cilizza writes that in the fight over ObamaCare (HR 3590) in the Senate, Michael Bennet (D-CO) was a big loser because he got nothing for Colorado in the the bill. Unlike Nelson or even Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu (D), who is up for reelection in 2014, neither Lincoln nor Bennet got anything major in exchange for their vote—meaning they could face the blowback from those unhappy with the legislation in their respective states without an accompanying sweetener to make the bill more palatable,” Cillizza writes

Even Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) piled on to the hapless Bennet. He said that any senator that didn’t get something substantial in the bill was ineffective. “If they don’t have something in it important to them then it doesn’t speak well of them,” Reid said. This shows how ineffective Bennet has been despite his frequent claims that he was amending the bill. Of course, Senator Mark Udall (D-CO) didn’t do any better.
