Rasmussen: Ken Buck 49%, Michael Bennet 45%

Colorado voters think being appointed Obama Democrat Sen. Michael Bennet is worse than being a fiscally conservative Ken Buck. Or, I should say, being Ken Buck is better than being Michael Bennet. In the latest Rasmussen Reports poll, Buck leads Bennet 49% to 45%. The race is a toss up, according to Rasmussen. Impact graphs:

Eighty-one percent (81%) of Colorado Republicans support Buck, while 86% of the state’s Democrats line up behind Bennet. Voters not affiliated with either major party give a slight edge to the Republican.
Buck, a county prosecutor, is viewed favorably by 49% of Colorado voters and unfavorably by 44%. This includes 17% with a Very Favorable opinion of him and 28% with a Very Unfavorable one.
Forty-five percent (45%) hold a favorable opinion of Bennet, who was superintendent of the Denver schools when he was appointed to the Senate last year after Ken Salazar joined President Obama’s Cabinet. He is viewed unfavorably by 50%. His Very Favorables are 21%, his Very Unfavorables 30%.
Both candidates are now well-known in the state.
Voters in the state now trust Republicans more than Democrats on five key issues – the economy, taxes, health care, immigration and government ethics and corruption.
Forty-four percent (44%) approve of the job President Obama is doing, but 55% disapprove. This is little changed from the previous survey and slightly lower than the president’s job approval ratings nationally in the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll.
