Senator Ben Nelson sells out to ObamaCare (HR 3590)
Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson sold his vote for ObamaCare (HR 3590) in return for $45 to $100 million in favors for his state, giving President Obama 60 votes for the bill. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) got Vermont $10 million and community health centers for his vote. Carl Levin (D-MI) sold his vote for tax exemptions for the tax-exempt Blue Cross and Blue Shield plan that owns Michigan. While Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) calls the deals compromises, everyone else calls them bribes. The question now is, will pro-choice liberal Democrats in the House go along? Probably. Like Obama, they don’t really care what’s in the bill. They just want a win. The deal effectively will keep most insurers from offering abortion coverage.
