Tom Tancredo promises to take fight to President Obama; Hickenlooper is an Obama Democrat
Tom Tancredo is in a virtual tie with John Hickenlooper in their race for governor of Colorado, and he says he will take his political fight to President Obama while Hickenlooper will emulate Obama. Tancredo's statement is below the jump:
<blockquote>Tancredo: We need a Governor who will take the political fight to Obama
"Hick will be back in Washington groveling for its passage. As Governor, I'll fight Obama's radical big government policiesevery day, every step of the way."
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO—Today Barack Obama.
Hickenlooper was urged by Obama to run for Governor days before Hick announced. Obama and Hickenlooper are so close that the President signed the stimulus bill in Denver.
Tancredo, meanwhile, has called Obama's policies the greatest threat facing America.
"John Hickenlooper was Obama's hand-picked choice to run for Governor. The next time there's a proposal like stimulus or Obamacare, you know Hick will be back in Washington groveling for its passage. As Governor, I'll fight Obama's radical big government policies every day, every step of the way.”
"If Obama proposes another stimulus bill, I will be in Washington fighting it. And if he manages to pass it, you can be sure he won't sign it in Colorado with me in charge."
Tancredo said the difference in how the two candidates will approach Obama speaks to the fundamental difference between the two major candidates.
"We are losing our country, and Hickenlooper is cutting goofball TV ads and thinks everything is fine. Like most Americans, I couldn't disagree more, and as Governor I will do something about it."
