Karen Kerrigan: ObamaCare (HR 3962) burdens small employers with higher costs, crushing taxes
Karen Kerrigan, president of the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council, writes in Politico’s Arena:
Make no mistake, those voting for H.R. 3962 voted to burden our nation’s job creators with higher costs and crushing taxes and penalties. Even in the best of economic times passage of this bill would be an inane move. The costs associated with H.R. 3962 are oppressive, and as a result jobs will be cut and small business growth will be stunted.
The U.S. House missed an opportunity to offer a lifeline to small businesses in the form of reasonable reform efforts that would help them keep or provide health insurance for themselves and their workforce. Small businesses spoke out on this issue, but the Democrat leadership and those voting for H.R. 3962 chose to ignore their concerns. The claim that H.R. 3962 will help small businesses is blatantly false.
