Sen. Michael Bennet will petition on ballot regardless of votes he gets at state assembly

If appointed Senator Michael Bennet doesn’t get the 30% of the votes at the Democrats’ state assembly that he needs to make the Aug. 10 primary ballot, he can blame it on his decision  over the weekend to start circulating petitions now to put him on the ballot. He can say, “It wasn’t Andrew Romanoff’s popularity that kept my Assembly vote totals low. It was the activists’ anger at me for petitioning on the ballot regardless of what happened at the assembly.” He’ll then use his relatively large bank roll to beat Romanoff in the primary— unless he doesn’t.

  1. Mike Coffman ran his petition early as well, then won!

    Started the volunteering process early.

The Arthur Carlson HD-41 campaign is headed by a 50-year fighter, and Art will continue until he has shown West Central Aurora that he is the best person for the job, and win, as well as we reclaim Colorado!

  2. I heard a lot of people might take the petition route. Quite open, really. I found out for State Senate it only takes 1,000 signatures. As an aside, Sec State may be my favorite CO gov agency.  Very customer service oriented.

A question about the two US Senate Dems: I’ve been calling them left and lefter and have not really followed them since I wouldn’t want either one elected, and reading about them increases my blood pressure. Who is the “lefter” of the two?

  3. Yes, the SOS is responsive - even Bernie answered a compliant quickly and effectively.

See Colorado Secretary of State Bernie Buescher: unions, corporations can make political contributions on this blog - we discovered that through wonderful response Good Friday afternoon - didn’t expect them to be in.

Udall is more likely lefter, but it is all int he preception of left.

  4. Kenton, thanks for your reply. I was referring to his is lefter between Romanoff and Bennet. Sorry for not being clearer.
