4 polls show Tom Tancredo’s surge
Four polls show how Tom Tancredo is surging to within six or eight percentage points of Obama Democrat John Hickenlooper. A fifth poll not yet published by the Denver Post reportedly shows Tancredo within six points of Hickenlooper.
A Real Clear Politics summary shows that the average ratings for the candidates are Hickenlooper 46%, Tancredo 31.8% and Dan Maes 17.8%. But if you look at the most recent poll versus the oldest, the story changes dramatically as follows:
Rasmussen Reports poll conducted on Oct. 3, Hickenlooper 43%, Tancredo 35%, Maes 16%.
Denver Post/ 9 News/Survey USA: 9/28-9/30: Hickenlooper 46%, Tancredo 34%, Maes 15%.
McClatchy/Marist 9/26-9/28: Hickenlooper 48%, Tancredo 29%, Maes 19%.
CNN/Time 9/17-9/21: Hickenlooper 47%, Tancredo 29%, Maes 21%.
Less than a month ago, Tancredo was at 21% and Maes was in the low 30%.
Tancredo definitely has the momentum.
