John Ransom creates survey on what Colorado Republicans want in a state party chair

John Ransom of Ransom Creative, a political consultant, has emailed me that he created a survey written to find out what conservatives think they want in a chair of the Colorado Republican Party. References to the survey are being posted on Facebook without attributing it to Ransom, and that has created some confusion about what it's all about. Ransom explains what he's doing in the email below. The survey is here. The Facebook thread that is promoting the survey is here.

Leslie D. White and Christa Huff, a Douglas County tea party activist, Ben DeGrow, a blogger, and Charles Healtherly, a Tancredo supporter, all are urging Facebook friends to take the survey.

The survey looks  professional.

Ransom emailed to me a copy of the email he sent out to conservatives:

Hi All-

Can you all participate in this survey?http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/F9CVMSB

It focuses on qualities we might look for in a state party chair, not personalities. It’s completely confidential and only the raw results will be published. It does not ask you who you will vote for, but rather asks what type of qualities you think someone should bring to the job.

I think it’s vitally important that as we start out on the 2012 election cycle that we start to find some common ground that unites us and uplifts us.

Thanks for doing the hard work of freedom.

Sincerely,

John

John Ransom

And Crista Huff explained in a private Facebook message:

Don, HD 44 Rep.-Elect Chris Holbert and I taught classes to 2000 Tea Partiers, training them how to become delegates to the State Convention last May. (And our efforts paid off.) He and I, the author of the poll (who also taught these classes), and our other friends are making an honest and good effort to field candidates for Chairman. MANY people are working on this right now.

The author of the poll sent emails to at least six dozen people asking them to spread the poll.
